Connemara and Spiddel

1-6: Views of Connemara:The tree with "ribbons" is in honor of the fairies and the locals tie these on May 1.  The barrels in the water are for mussel farming and it takes 1 1/2 to 2 years before ready for harvest.
7-10.  Kyle Abbey originally built in the 1800's by the Henry family and now is a Benedictine Abbey.  Pictures show the furnishings and a painting of a harp on cloth.
11. Fence with covering of stone fence so we could see the fence as originally built.
12.  Stair step waterfall on the grounds
13. Miniature cathedral built by the Henry husband for his wife in her honor after her death at age 45 from dysentery.
14.Marble columns:  green marble from Connemara, rose from Cork, Black from Kilkenny and Grey from Armagh.
