Killarney and Ring of Kerry
1. Lampost in front of the International Hotel in Killarney.
2.Flowers in hotel entry way
3.Donkeys on hillside demonstrating carrying peat blocks
4. Mountain view along the Ring of Kerry drive
5.. Charlie Chaplin statue in village of Waterville on the Iveraugh Peninsula.
6- 7. Shoreline views along the drive
8. Fuschia growing wild along a fence in Caherdaniel village where we had lunch. It grows wild and covers many of the hedge rows along the roads.
9. Statue of the Blessed Mother along the roadway
10. Road way at Castle Cove
11. River in Sneem where we stopped for ice cream cones--softserve with chocolate sauce twirls
12. Muchross Mansion: built by an Irish assembly man and after many ownership changes is now part of a huge national park in Killarney.

Cliffs of Moher and more
2. House people lived in next to the Abbey.
3 St. Patrick carving on the wall of the Abbey.
4. This house was in the village where we stopped for lunch and the flowers and color of the house were very attractive.
5. Poulnabrone Dolmer: burial site from 2500 bc. Person was creamated elsewhere and bones were stuffed into rocks under this monument.
6. Cliffs of Moher--now you see them and now you don't: we had a very rainy day and high winds but were delighted to see the cliffs even briefly!
7. One of many castle ruins we saw on our tour today,.
Tonight we are in a quaint old hotel (former brewery) in Killarney.

Connemara and Spiddel
1-6: Views of Connemara:The tree with "ribbons" is in honor of the fairies and the locals tie these on May 1. The barrels in the water are for mussel farming and it takes 1 1/2 to 2 years before ready for harvest.
7-10. Kyle Abbey originally built in the 1800's by the Henry family and now is a Benedictine Abbey. Pictures show the furnishings and a painting of a harp on cloth.
11. Fence with covering of stone fence so we could see the fence as originally built.
12. Stair step waterfall on the grounds
13. Miniature cathedral built by the Henry husband for his wife in her honor after her death at age 45 from dysentery.
14.Marble columns: green marble from Connemara, rose from Cork, Black from Kilkenny and Grey from Armagh.
